Winslow- Heather M. Houle, 91, died Monday, January 9, 2026, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta after a brief illness with her daughters at her side.

Heather was born in Good Easter, England on April 10, 1934.

She was married to Robert D. Houle of Waterville who she met in 1952 while he was stationed in

England with the US Air Force. They were married for 70 years until his passing in March of 2025.

Heather and Bob moved back to the states in 1956 and were stationed in Maine, Arizona then New

Mexico before Robert retired in Maine in 1972. She was involved with many groups and organizations while they were in the military including the NCO Club and the British Wives Club.

Heather had many hobbies including antiques and operated a couple of booths at the Fairfield Antiques Mall for many years. She loved gardening and could grow most anything ... vegetables or flowers. Heather also was very athletic, loving to exercise, line dance, play volleyball and pickleball well into her 80's. The last 16 years before retiring she worked at Kennebec Mental Health Center in Insurance Billing.

She was predeceased by her mother Nance Reed, her husband Robert and son-in-law Wayne

Sirois of Thomaston.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Houle of Winslow, and Paula Sirois of Thomaston, her brother Steve Reed and wife Sue of Burnham On Crouch, England, sister-in-law Rita Pooler of Winslow, brother-in-law Paul Houle and wife Charlene of Oakland, granddaughter Karrie Ouellette and husband Jim of Hermon, grandson Matt Sirois and his partner Sarah Metts-Murphy of Pelham, MA, great granddaughters Ramona, Natalie and Claire. as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27th, 2026, at 10:00 am at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 116 Silver Street, Waterville with a light luncheon to follow in the church hall. She will be interred at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery with Robert on a future date.

Her daughters would like to thank the wonderful staff at MaineGeneral Terrace West for the care and comfort they provided Heather in her last days.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville. An online guestbook may be signed, condolences and memories shared at www.gallantfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the deceased name to the Humane Society Waterville
