Wayne Boudreau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gallant Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 18, 2026.
Clinton - Wayne Gerald Boudreau, age 75, shed his Earthly cloak, spread his majestic angelic wings and took his heavenly flight to his eternal resting place surrounded by his loved ones at the Andwell Hospice House on January 30, 2026.

He was born on December 6, 1950, in Waterville, ME, the son of Vilbon J Boudreau and Edith E (Townsend). Wayne attended Belgrade schools up to grade 8, obtaining his GED at the age of 27. He enlisted in the US Army in April 1968 at the age of 17. He served in the Vietnam War where he was decorated with the Bronze Star Medal for Heroism, honorably discharge in Jan 1972.

He worked for several years in construction and carpentry until he was hired at Maine Central Railroad as a flagman, eventually promoted to engineer. Upon leaving the railroad life to pursue a career that offered a better work-life balance, he retired as a professional painter.

He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed boating, camping and spending quality time with family and his companion, Freda Ryan. He took great pride in fulfilling the role of "father figure" to many of the family's youth, sharing his knowledge and teaching them the ways: riding a bike, safely operating a four-wheeler, worming a hook, catching a fish and driving a car. Whether blood-related or chosen family, he opened his beautiful golden heart and became the fatherly figure to all who needed one. He was the friend to the person who needed a friend, and to those less fortunate, he gave openly and freely.

He was predeceased by his parents Vilbon and Edith Boudreau, Arthur and Velma Crowell, his wife of 48 years Carolyn M Boudreau, his youngest son Johnathan P Boudreau, his brothers James W Boudreau, Carroll M Boudreau, David R Crowell and Richard S Crowell, his sisters Marjorie A Crowell and Jody L Crowell.

He is survived by his companion Freda Ryan, his daughter Melissa Boudreau and companion Andy Daigle, his son Arthur Boudreau and companion Michelle LaPierre. His grandchildren Cheyenne (Justin) Goodrich, Natasha (Richard) Wing, Alexander (Katie) Boudreau, Alyssa Boudreau and Austin R Boudreau. His great-grandchildren Allee, Justin Jr and Margo Goodrich, Mason Wayne Bennett, Desmond Paradis, Chloe Febus and Penelope Boudreau. His siblings Martha (Steve) Connor, Chester Neal (Dennise) Boudreau, Deborah (Stan) Niwa, George Robert (Candace) Boudreau, Paul Crowell, Gail (Daryl) Swain, Cynthia Veilleux, Paula (Stephen) Homer, Daniel Crowell. His chosen family - daughter and companion Bridget Ryan and Tim Hunt, granddaughters Gracie and Allie Ryan Hunt. Several very special nieces and nephews and his special friend Rusty.

A graveside service will be held this spring at McClintock Cemetery in Winslow, ME. The date to be determined. A celebration of life will follow immediately after the graveside ceremony. Details will be outlined in a Facebook announcement.

The family would like to thank the Veterans Administration-Palliative Care, his primary care Dr. Carolyn Pece, Andwell Hospice with special mention of nurse Meghan and Hospice House Auburn for your comfort and care, kindness and support.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville, An online guestbook may be signed; condolences and memories shared at www.gallantfh.com.
