Heather A. Mains, 47, went to the loving arms of Jesus and her mother Shelly, on November 11, 2024, at the 21st Street REM home in Superior.
Heather was born on June 24, 1977, to Don Mains and Shelly Greely Mains.
Heather was a wonderful young lady. She went through life with many physical ailments and disabilities, but remained sweet and had a ready smile that would melt your heart. Dani, Leslie, Kathy, and Micah would "keep an eye" on Heather to make sure she was okay. Heather loved going for rides with Aunt Sally and listening to country music on the radio as they went on those rides.
Heather was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Shelly; grandparents, Bill and Jane Greely and Chris and Lottie Mains; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her father, Don; brothers, Chris and Jeremy; special niece, Elizabeth Mains; guardian for the past 31 years, Sally Thompson; and special housemates, Dani, Kathy, Leslie, and Micah; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Heather's life will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at the First Covenant Church, 3311 Hammond Avenue in Superior. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon followed by the inurnment at the Nemadji Cemetery, with Pastor Fred Flatten presiding.
A special thank you to the employees of REM that have cared for and loved Heather. Also thank you to the caring, compassionate folks at Moments Hospice, especially Stephanie, Bill, and Callie.
