Benoit, Hector of South Attleboro died peacefully at home with family at his side on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 95.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Henry and Clara (Demers) Benoit. Hector was predeceased by his wife Eunice (Martel). He was the brother of the late Henry and Alfred Benoit and Jeanette St Pierre.
Hector is survived by his daughter, Donna Benoit and her husband, Robert McConnell of Providence, Rhode Island, son Mark and his wife Glee, Ferguson of Middleborough, Massachusetts and son Luke and his wife Joanne of South Attleboro Grandfather of Alexandra (Phillip), Hannah (Gimo) and William (Alexandra) McConnell, Joshua (Keely) Benoit, Heather, Benjamin and Camden Benoit.
Hector also is survived by six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Hector was raised and lived his life in South Attleboro. He was a construction worker and heavy equipment operator throughout his career where he was employed by Smiley Construction and Marshall Contractors. He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 57.
Hector was an army veteran who served in the Korean War. Hector was a kind, hard-working man who liked nothing more than hosting and attending gatherings with his extended family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a prayer service at 11:00 a.m. at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Hector’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
