Obituary of Hector Sanchez Davila

With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Héctor Sánchez Dávila, on August 31, 2025, in West Liberty, Iowa. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife, daughters, and family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Héctor was born in Ignacio Allende, Durango, Mexico, to Arnulfo Sánchez Sánchez and María de los Ángeles Dávila Arellano. For 36 years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Carmen Graciela Aranday. Together, they built a beautiful family with their daughters, Ashley Sánchez and Angey Sánchez (John Yates), along with their faithful companion, Papas.

He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Ismael, Margarita, Armando, Arnulfo, Jesús, Juanita, María Victoria, and Fidel. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ricardo, Samuel, Jaime, and Joaquín.

Héctor graduated from high school in San Juan del Río, Durango, Mexico. He worked as a forklift driver, but above all, he was devoted to being the best husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed gardening, plants, music, dancing, cooking, choreographing quinceañeras, and most of all, spending time with his family and Papas. One of his proudest accomplishments was becoming a U.S. citizen at the age of 60, shortly after receiving his cancer diagnosis.

Héctor leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family unity. His memory will live forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
