Hector M. Gardea August 27, 1962 – September 14, 2025 With deep love and sorrow, the family of Hector M. Gardea announces his peaceful passing on September 14, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on August 27, 1962, to Manuel Gardea Barrintos and Manuela Bijarro Davila, Hector was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He spent his life rooted in love, hard work, and a passion for restoring the beauty of the past through his craft as an antique restorer-a work he truly loved. Hector is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Maria DelCarmen Gardea, and their children: Vanessa Gardea Gonzales, Hector Javier Gardea, and Rigo Gardea. He was a proud grandfather to Brianna Lynn Gonzales, Jaime Gonzales Jr., Amira Faith Gardea, Aliyah Hope Gardea, Aiden Xavier Gardea, and Joe Angel Reyes, and a cherished great-grandfather to Jesus Dominguez III and Daleyza Yaretzi Dominguez. He is also survived by his loving siblings: Lidia Gardea Valero, Severita Gardea Fraire, Francisco Gardea, Josefa Gardea Dela Garza, Maria Cruz Gardea Riojas, and Alma Leticia Gardea Fuentes. Hector was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved sitting outside drinking a cold one listening to music, singing and loved to dance and was happiest surrounded by nature, caring for his plants, and spending quality time with his family and friends. A man of Catholic faith, he carried his beliefs in his heart and actions every day. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Manuela, his brothers Ignacio Gardea and Victor Gardea, and his sister Armandina Gardea Ortega. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, a Rosary will take place at 6:00 P.M. Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home. Hector's legacy of love, laughter, craftsmanship, and joy will live on in all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
