Hector Singleterry, age 62, passed away on February 11, 2025, in Hermiston, Oregon. Hector was born on March 25, 1962, in Grandview, Washington, to Eva and Ruben Singleterry. He attended school in Sunnyside, Washington. From a young age, Hector was fascinated by how things worked and dedicated his life to fixing them. He spent the majority of his career with Independent Food Processing, where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor. Hector married Tracy Miller, and they remained close friends for over 43 years. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Miller, and his son, Hector Stephen Singleterry; his brothers, Ruben, Martin, and Adam; his sister, Ida; and his grandchildren, Katie, Ashen, Logan, Presley, and Avery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Ruben, and his granddaughter, Melanie. Hector also leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Hector was known for his kindness and generosity. He always stopped to help people in need, never asking for anything in return. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. He could tell the funniest stories, often about his family and their comical antics.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 1-4pm. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah, WA.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. As Hector prioritized finding joy in his loved ones and sharing time with them, the family asks that you do the same - go out and do something that brings you real joy and share it with those around you. If you feel so moved, reach out and tell us about it - or another time shared with Hector.
