Hedy Therese “Honey” Townsend, age 80, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on March 13, 2023.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Stella (née Oleskow) Fitzgerald.
Honey’s passion for antiques led her into the business as an Antique Dealer. She loved taking long drives on country roads while scouting out awesome antique finds.
Honey also enjoyed the beach and adored the sunshine. She was an avid reader and had a special fondness for mystery thrillers. She shared her love of rock and roll and country music with her children and grandchildren alike. She was famous for her memorable family parties that her nieces and nephews still talk about to this day.
Honey loved her cats and dogs that shared her home throughout the years with her. Most of all, Honey was dedicated to her children and grandchildren, and is dearly remembered for the many great adventures she took them on while they were growing up.
Honey was the wife of the late Richard C. Townsend; the loving mother of Rich Townsend, Cathy Windle (Joe), Julie Townsend-Rogers, and the late Barry Townsend. She was the caring grandmother of Nicholas, Evan, Katie, Alex, Jasmine, Jeremiah, and the late Zachary; and the cherished great-grandmother of Daphne and Aubrey.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Monday, March 20, 2023, 9:30 – 10:20 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Avenue, Havertown, PA 19083, followed by her Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Contributions would be appreciated in Honey’s memory to The Buddy Pal for Life Fund, 634 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026, or to the Pennsylvania SPCA, 350 E. Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19134.
