Heidi Boettcher DeConcini, 78, of Crofton, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
It is with sadness but deep love that we announce that Heidi went to be with the Lord. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith; her grace and class; her kindness, generosity, and genuine sweetness towards others. She was a treasured aunt, loving sister, devoted wife and daughter, and caring friend.
Heidi was born on December 30,1946 in Washington, DC to Marvin and Helen Boettcher. Heidi was the oldest of three girls and grew up in Oxon Hill, MD. She always shared fond memories of her childhood home in the Southlawn neighborhood and from Oxon Hill High School.
Throughout her life, Heidi dedicated herself to serving God and caring for family. Her faith guided every part of her life, leading her to active service in her church, where she volunteered in many capacities. She was particularly proud of her efforts with Evangelism Explosion where she shared her faith with others, and she spent many years dedicated to faith education with Bible Study Fellowship.
Heidi approached life with enthusiasm and curiosity, establishing varied hobbies. She loved to travel and saw much of the world alongside her husband and friends. She enjoyed watching and playing golf. Heidi had a deep appreciation for beautiful things, collecting fine art and trinkets, and enjoying interior design. This appreciation was also expressed in her love for flowers, plants, and gardening.
Above all, Heidi was a caretaker. She selflessly cared for others and gave her time, energy and compassion when others were in need. She worked to be of value to others in any way possible.
Heidi is preceded in death by her husband, John DeConcini; her parents Marvin and Helen Boettcher; her sister, Bonnie Riley; and her nephew Sean Riley.
Heidi is survived by her niece Lori Lusby and nephew-in-law Jim Lusby; great niece Rachel Lusby and great nephew Brian Lusby; her sister Erika Burch and brother-in-law Gerald Burch, nieces Dana Shope (Tom) and Keila Youngbar (Jesse), Great-Nephew, Truman Youngbar, the DeConcini family, her dear friend, Linda D. Sheldon and other extended family and friends.
Heidi will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
