Helen Antee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory - Ball on Jan. 20, 2026.
Helen Rose Estes Antee affectionately known as Helen, Rose, Mom and MeMe was born on August 13, 1941 at home in the Valentine Lake Community and transitioned to her heavenly home on January 18, 2026 at The Oaks Care Center in Pineville, LA.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Wilda Baptist Church from 9:00-11:00am. Services will begin at 11:00am at the church with Brother Joey Rudisill, Brother Alton Achord and Brother Kevin Coffman. Burial will follow in Hemphill Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Jaycen Williams, Wiley "Huck" McDaniel, Damon Fee, Gavin Fee, Robert Gordy, Wayne Stanfield and Stevie Frazier. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Williams, Mason Fee, Weston Fee, Mike Estes, James Gordy, Andrew Gordy and Daniel McElwee.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ed Antee; her parents Clyde G. and Lillian Perkins Estes; her brothers and sisters Herman, Dooley, Chester, Virginia, Ellen Faye and Sue; grandson Drew Williams; and the father of her children Wiley "Toot" McDaniel.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Joe McDaniel, Sissy Nitz (Mike) and Tracy Jones (Eric); her grandchildren Wiley "Huck" McDaniel, Tiffany Fee (Hank), Jaycen Williams (Rachel) and Daniel McElwee; and great grandchildren Damon, Gavin, Mason & Weston Fee and Kolter McDaniel.

Momma loved The Lord and her family. She was always reading her bible; and her favorite gospel hymn was "The Old Rugged Cross". She often spoke of her grandfather Jim Perkins playing this hymn on his fiddle. She loved her family with all her heart. She would end every phone call with "I Love You".

Momma was an avid NASCAR and baseball fan. She would tell you that Dale Earnhardt was the greatest driver; and when her Atlanta Braves were playing. Also, she loved watching The Game Show Network and working in her word search puzzle books.

A very special "Thank You" to The Oaks Care Center and Christus Hospice for the care Momma received.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wilda Baptist Church, in memory of Helen Antee, 75 St. Clair Rd. Boyce, LA 71409 or LOPA, in memory of Drew Williams, 68190 US 190 Service Rd. Covington, LA 70433.
