Helen Marie Barron, lovingly known as Marie, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on August 2, 1939, to the late Elsworth and Lora (Ferrell) Wilson, Marie lived a life deeply rooted in faith, love, and service. She was a devoted Christian whose love for Jesus guided every part of her life.
Marie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Harry Virgil Barron—known to most as Virgil—on August 3, 1957. They were blessed with nearly 68 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to one another. From their union came two sons, Rickey Barron (wife, Vickey) and Randy Barron (wife, Debbie). Marie's greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother, and she cherished every moment spent with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Virgil Barron; son, Randy Barron (wife, Debbie); grandchildren, Kiersta Barron and Hannah Barron; great-grandson, Devon Marler (wife, Hallie); and great-great-grandson, Cainan Marler.
Marie also leaves behind her dear siblings: Mary Lou Marler, Richard (wife, Bobbi) Wilson, Eddie (wife, Jeanette) Wilson, and Dennis (wife, Jean) Wilson. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Kathy Wilson, Diane Rawlins, Connie (husband, Danny) Bradley, Pat Gamble Wilson, Chris Stringer, and Craig Brewer; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.
In addition to her parents and beloved son Rickey, Marie was preceded in death by her siblings: Homer Wilson, JoAnn Smith, Charlie Wilson, Billy Wilson, Sandy Wilson, Ronnie Wilson, Mike Wilson, and Larry Wilson, as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and other cherished family members.
Marie’s life was a reflection of her strong faith. She was a long-time supporter of Heartfelt Ministries and loved gospel music, often surrounding herself with songs that lifted the name of Jesus. She loved to travel, quilt, visit yard sales, and care for her dogs. Her heart for others was evident in everything she did—always giving, always helping, and always putting others before herself. She owned and operated Mom’s Place Restaurant, where she served her community not just meals, but love, conversation, and encouragement. Marie truly never met a stranger.
Her selfless spirit, love for family, and unwavering faith in God will remain an inspiration to all who knew her. She lived her life as a servant of Christ and left behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and strength.
