Helen Loraine (Munson) Cook
Dec. 8, 1934 – Nov. 17, 2025
Helen Loraine was born December 8th, 1934, to Arthur Harold Munson and Ethel Ellen (Taylor) Munson in Stroud, Oklahoma. The oldest of the 9 surviving children, Helen was a remarkable daughter, sister, wife, and mother. As an aunt and grandmother to many generations, Helen was definitely a wonderful and giving woman.
On June 16th, 1954, Helen married William "Bill" Ray Cook, and together they raised seven children. She was a soft-spoken, kind-hearted person who loved her family, each and every one, more than anything else for they were her entire life.
Her life was full of hard work, but she was not one to complain and not one to stop or give up. Her ability to raise and nurture children: her own, her siblings, and many grandchildren, was truly "above and beyond." She could make "nothing" very special. She cooked amazing meals. Her love was unconditional. Anyone who needed someone to care for them, she gladly and gracefully did so, without hesitation. While she treasured her flowers, enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking, it was the snuggles with her very many grandbabies, nieces, and nephews of all generations that were her most treasured moments. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing, and while she still had more she wished to do, her work was finally complete.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; an infant daughter, Connie Lynn; her parents, Arthur and Ethel; her sisters, Minnie (Tiny) Munson, Ruth Reno, and Betty Munson; her brother, Harold Munson; and others.
Helen is survived by her brothers and their families: Ray, Roy (Anita), and Carl (Clarissa) Munson. Her sister, Colene Berry, and her family. Her brother and sister, Jim and Neva Cook, and their families.
She is also survived by her children, Juanita Snowden and her families, Ron Cook and his families, Catherine Hutchinson and her families, Sheryl Cook, of the home, Alesia (James) McEachern and their families, J. Steven Cook and his family, and Karen Cook Leonard and her family.
