Lori McCanse Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory - Wellington on Nov. 19, 2025.
Lori Lynn McCanse, 56, passed away at her home in Wellington, Kansas on November 6, 2025. She was born to Larry "Bob" and Karla (Jordan) Weikal on November 28, 1968, in Hutchinson, Kansas. Lori was a generous, humble, and compassionate woman, who dedicated herself to caring for those around her.
Lori was a hardworking individual, known for her dedication and commitment to her career in food service. She began her journey at Taco Bell, starting at an entry-level position and steadily advancing to management. Lori was instrumental in the opening of new stores in the area, a testament to her skill and determination. Despite her professional accomplishments, Lori's true passion lay in her hobbies and personal interests. She was an avid movie watcher, known for indulging in her favorite films and series. While not a naturally competitive person, her son recalls her having a spark when it came to playing cards. Perhaps her most notable hobby was her involvement with local animal rescues, with a particular focus on dogs. Lori's compassionate nature extended to these animals, as she took joy in fostering and adopting dogs over the years. However, her greatest joy came from being a mother to Spencer and Chevy. Lori also treasured the time that she was able to care for her mother, Karla.
Lori is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Karla Weikal; her husband, Caesar McCanse; and her brother, Brian Weikal. She is remembered fondly by those who survive her, including her sons Spencer Weikal and Chevy McCanse; her grandchildren Karson Weikal and Julian Compton; a sister, Michelle Weikal; a brother, Chris Weikal and wife Megan; along with several nieces, nephews, and their families.
A service to honor Lori's life will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Bryce Day Memorial Foundation which will be assisting the family with funeral costs.
