Rose Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory - Wellington on Feb. 10, 2026.
Rose Marie Taylor, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the age of 69.

Rose was born the daughter of Allen and Doris (Dargatz) Niesen on February 1, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas.

Rose was a charismatic beacon of strength and love, who dedicated her life to creating a nurturing home and supporting those around her. Her life was a vibrant tapestry woven with the threads of love, dedication, and passion. Rose was a loving homemaker who filled her home with warmth and joy. Her charisma permeated every corner of her house, making it a sanctuary for her family. Rose and her husband, Amos, were just one month shy of their 49-year anniversary before his passing in July of 2025.

Rose was a dedicated fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Kansas City Chiefs football teams. Her love for these teams was only surpassed by her devotion to her favorite daytime soap opera, Days of our Lives, and her unwavering attention to every episode of Law & Order. Her hobbies extended to a deep fondness for anything Garfield or Dale Earnhardt Sr. and a love for the music of Conway Twitty and George Strait. Above all, family was the most important thing to Rose. Her dedication and love were the pillars that supported her family, and her memory will continue to inspire those lucky enough to have known her.

Rose leaves behind a legacy of love in her family that includes her children: Eric Taylor, Jimmie (Josh) Taylor, Anna (Curt) Taylor, Norma (John) Sears, Jeffery Taylor, and Billie Jean (Dean) Saltkill; grandchildren: Schyler (Courtney) Taylor, Delaney Taylor, Braxton (Abby) Taylor, Destiny Jones, Stormie (Kyle) Hughes, Brad Jones, Cortnie (Matt) Jones, Colton Glover, Austin (Hailey) Sears, Taylor (Blake) Sears, Karter Taylor, Ansley Peters, Kaeleigh Birdwell, Kayla Saltkill, Aurthur Saltkill, Abigail Saltkill, great grandchildren: Lincoln Taylor, Adalynn Edgington, Breanna Edgington, brother, Mike Niesen; cousin, Jackie Babcock; and another grandchild and great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Doris Niesen; husband, Amos Taylor Jr.; sisters, Michelle Dutcher; Sheryl Walters; and great grandson, Knox Long-McCreary.

Donations may be made in her memory to Bryce Day Memorial Foundation. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.

A private family service will take place at a later date.
