It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Helen Bernice (Bernie) Corners, who passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, in Yuma, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 29, 1953, in Placentia, Newfoundland, to John and Gladys Brown, Bernie was a vibrant spirit from the very start. She was known for her light hearted sense of humor, warm, caring nature, and ability to find joy in everything.

Bernie's greatest joy in life was her family. She was the beloved wife of Ken, a devoted mom to Jim, Wayne, and Willow, and a loving mother-in-law to Audrey, Laurie, and Steve. Her kitchen was always a place of love and delicious creations, from holiday feasts to her famous cookies, bars, and fresh-baked bread, all prepared with skill and affection.

She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren, Maci, Malik, Mia, Willow, River, Dylan, Avery, Sophie, and great-granddaughter Aubree, sharing stories, baking cookies, and creating cherished memories. Bernie instilled in her family the importance of love, kindness, and hard work, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

Bernie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys, and siblings, Bill, Pam, Johnny, and baby brother Brown. She is survived by her beloved husband, her children, her grandchildren, her sister, Kim, niece Holly, and nephews John, Gower, and Jacob.

A celebration of Bernie's life will be held in Placentia, Newfoundland, with the date to be determined.
