Darrell Lee Corners, 88, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:00 pm November 5, 2024 at Green Tree Memory Care in Mount Vernon. He was born September 26, 1936 to the late Randall and Helen (Beadle) Corners.
Darrell is survived by his long-time companion, Janice DePlanty of Mount Vernon; stepsister, Karen Tacke of Paducah Kentucky; grandchildren, Randall Corners of North Carolina, Bradley Corners and wife, Ellen of North Carolina, Timothy Corners of North Carolina, Will DePlanty of Clayton, Missouri, and Quinn DePlanty of Clayton, Missouri; nephews, Scott Owens and wife, Kelly of Woodlawn, Illinois, and Bradley Owens and wife, Sheila of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his sister, Donna Owens; and sons, Jeffrey Corners and Rodney Corners.
Darrell worked at Illinois Power and retired as a gas foreman.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 10:30 am at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon with Richard and Reverend Rose Straeter officiating. Memorials may be made in Darrell's honor to Miriam School in Saint Louis, Missouri and will be accepted at the funeral home.
