HELEN THERESA “VICKI” CRESAP
August 28, 1920 ˜ December 11, 2025

Helen Theresa “Vicki” (Wedin) Cresap passed away on December 11, 2025, in Vancouver, Washington. Vicki was born August 28, 1920, in her parents home when Battle Ground had a population of just 400. She was the sixth of eight children born to John and Nannie (Soderlind) Wedin who immigrated to the United States from Sweden. Her childhood years were filled with happy times spent with her brothers and sisters at their farm on Kelly Hill north of Heisson. Picnics with her family and dances held at local grange halls were a big part of her young life.
She married Joseph Eli Cresap on January 8, 1938, and soon after moved to Bells Mountain near the Cresap homestead where she lived most of her life. She welcomed three daughters, Ruthie, Gloria and Cindy. A lifelong homemaker, she devoted herself to her family, often saying her favorite place to be was anywhere her family was.
She became a member of the Pankoski American Legion and the Rebekah International Order of Oddfellows. She also served on the Heisson Election Board in the 1940’s.
She enjoyed traveling in her RV with her husband and explored countless destinations from the Yukon Territory to Arizona and beyond. KahNeeTa, in Central Oregon, was always a favorite of hers. She continued her travels RVing with her daughter, granddaughter and great-grandchildren well into her late 90s’s.
She was a devoted Mariners fan, rarely missing a game and enjoyed talking baseball with other fans. Lilacs, a favorite of the Swedish community, graced her yard using starts from her own mother’s yard. Vicki wrote beautiful poems and had a lifelong childlike curiosity about the world.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her daughters, Ruthie and Cindy; and her granddaughter, Traci. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria; her granddaughter, Carri (Tony); her granddaughter, Staci; her great-grandsons, JC (Rachael), Matthew, Reece and Dazmon; her great-granddaughters, Dallas (Garrett), Savannah (Conner) and Brooke; as well as her great-great-grandson, Emmett.
