Helen Davis Obituary
URBANA – Helen G. Davis, 92 of Urbana, Ohio, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 20, 2025 at her home.
Helen was born in Petroleum, Pa., on June 21, 1933, a daughter of the late Michael Sr. and Mary (Russin) Gonder.
She married Richard V. Davis, and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2011. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Gonder Jr., and Paul Gonder.
Helen is survived by her two children, Barbara J. (Tony) Bailes and Robert L. (Kathleen) Davis, both of Urbana, three grandchildren, Madison Bailes, Kyle (Tiffanie) Davis, and Zack (Katy) Back, and five great-grandchildren, Vincent, Zander, and Octavia Davis, Zoey and Leo Back.
Helen was a 1951 graduate of Hubbard (Ohio) High School, where she was Salutatorian. She earned her RN degree and started her career at Sharon General, providing care at many hospitals over the years and retiring in 2011 from Area Agency on Aging in Mansfield, Ohio. Helen enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, cooking, collecting recipes, boating and being on Indian Lake.
Private graveside services will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
Arrangements are in the care of SHOFFSTALL FUNERAL HOME, Lakeview, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed at shoffstallfuneralhome.com.
