Helen Dimock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wetzel Funeral Home - Hanover on Nov. 26, 2025.
Helen Agnes Dimock, 86, of Lutherville MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Top of the Hill Manor. She was a devoted wife of the late John David Dimock, with who she shared nearly 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2021.

Born January 5, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late George C. and Amelia R (Lukas) Burness.

Helen was raised in the Baltimore area, where she attended both grade school and high school. She began her career at The Baltimore Sun newspaper as a Classified Advertising Clerk, where she met the love of her life, John. The two were married in October 1971 and built a life together filled with friendship, family and faith. Shortly after their marriage, Helen left her position at the newspaper to focus on being a homemaker, a role she embraced wholeheartedly.

She enjoyed sewing, needlework, and watching movies, and she was an enthusiastic collector of cat and angel figurines. Raised in the Catholic faith, Helen maintained a strong spiritual connection throughout her life.

Helen is survived by her stepdaughter, Catherine Saylor and her husband Robert of Littlestown; her grandchildren, Casey Barna and her husband RJ and Daniel Saylor and his fiancé Emelie Stewart and one great-grandchild expected soon.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Regina Madigon.

Helen will be set to her eternal rest with her husband, John.

There will be no public viewing. A graveside service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at 2 pm on December 2, 2025, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, with Father Key officiating.
