Helen Louise McCumber Elder, 79, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026 at her home in Neosho, Missouri after a long fight with Alzheimer's disease. Helen was born on February 1, 1947 in Granby, Missouri to Lonnie and Helen McCumber. She graduated from Granby High School in 1965. She married Richard Elder on December 2, 1967 and they raised two sons, Dustin and Shannon. She was heavily involved in the school and her community in Granby and both she and Richard were very active in their church, Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ, until her illness. Her true passion was in raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren.
