Brunswick – Helen T. (Moran) Hodgdon, passed away on October 3rd, 2025, at Andwell Hospice in Auburn, ME, after a brief illness. Helen was born many years ago (NEVER ask a woman her age) in Lowell, MA, to Mabel (Oulette) Moran and Thomas Moran. She attended grade school in Brooklyn, NY and spent several years on the family farm in Westford, MA.

She moved to New York City after high school, living with her older brother Thomas and his wife Helen. After meeting Beau (Ivan) at Lakeview Dance Hall, Tyngsboro, MA, Helen and Beau were married on December 4th, 1948, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Granitebell, MA. She lived with Beau in Westford, MA, prior to relocating South Florida in 1953.

Helen was a homemaker for many years before beginning employment at Parkview Elementary School, Miami, FL, in 1967. She retired in 1986 as Cafeteria Manager. Helen enjoyed traveling around the world with Beau. They travelled to almost every continent and nearly all 50 states and shared some of their travel adventures with their son and daughter.

She loved to reminisce about some exciting, unique and often humorous experiences. She enjoyed attending Miami Dolphins football games for many years with Beau. When not sitting on the 50-yard line or sitting behind home plate, they enjoyed watching games on t.v. She loved a good lobstah chowda or lobstah roll. We know she's happily reunited with Beau and other family members. She will be forever in our hearts and missed always.

Helen is predeceased by Beau (2/5/2020) and her brothers Thomas, Raymond, Russell, Paul and Frank (Bee), along with her parents.

Surviving Helen are her son, Ronald (Patricia) Hodgdon, of Pownal, ME and daughter Patty Franko, Cleveland, OH, and her children, Patrick Franko of North Royalton, OH, Capt (US Army) Stephen Franko (Kelly) of GA and Katherine (Franko) Masley (Capt. Michael, US Army), Southern Pine, NC and their father, Tom Franko, Cleveland, OH.

Helen is also survived by several loving nephews and nieces, many who enjoyed visiting, along with their families, the family camp (est 1985) on Lake Pushaw, Orono, ME. So many memories created on Pushaw.

A graveside service will be held at Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Section H, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, ME, on November 5th at 1pm.

A Celebration of Life is planned for July 2025 in Orono, ME; details will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Andwell Hospice House, 236 Stetson Avenue, Auburn, ME 04240, who compassionately and respectfully provided wonderful care to Helen prior to her passing.

Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Stetson's Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, Maine.

Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Stetson's Funeral Home website, www.stetsonsfuneralhome.com
