Mrs. McCorvey was an amazing teacher. She inspired in me a love of literature. The writing exercises that she did with us prepared me for college. I remember her laugh, warm smile and her kindness. She will be missed.

Mrs. McCorvey was one of the best teachers I ever had - she opened my eyes to so many ideas. Our senior humanities class was like no other. Over the years I have often reflected upon that class, and what it meant to me. I am thankful to have been her student.

Helen was a dear friend as well as a mentor. I admired her as a colleague and learned so much from her during the years we taught together at Deerfield. My son was fortunate to have her as a teacher, and several years ago, he and I had a nice visit with her and Paul in Manchester. She was brilliant, kind, genuine, and Southern to her core. Love you, my friend.

I first met Helen McCorvey when she taught me 11th grade English/Literature at Deerfield school in Albany. I had never had a teacher like her before! I actually loved the class. I had never been a big fan of English before. She and I got along so well, and I just adored her! I had her for my senior year Humanities class, and our friendship grew. I knew that I would always stay in touch with her because I loved her, and her beautiful smile!! I really regret not seeing her in the last few years! I love you,and I'm so grateful to you for giving me freedom in learning. You gave me an invaluable gift, the love of reading! I will never forget you! No one else will understand this, but us "Give me an A!!".
