Helen Irene (Weber) McKenzie, 88 of Macon, MO passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Macon Health Care Nursing Home.

Helen was born on January 29, 1938, in Atlanta, MO, the daughter of Leo B. and Gladys M. (Petre) Weber. She was united in marriage to James Louis McKenzie on June 30, 1956, at the Nazarene Church in Macon, MO. Helen was a member and was baptized at the Cario Baptist Church as a young child. Helen worked as the Blees Sanatorium and Banquet Frozen Foods in her early years and was then employed at Toastmaster for almost 40 years. She graduated from Macon R-1 High School in 1957. Helen enjoyed gardening, taking care of her many flower gardens and rock gardens, sewing and crocheting. She was very proud when she won yard of the month. She especially loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and all of her many dogs and pets.

Helen is survived by her three children, Patricia Louise Jarman Whitsell and her husband Bruce Whitsell of Clarksdale, MO; James Michael McKenzie and his wife Denise McKenzie of Macon, MO; Lara Kay Lucas and her husband Matt Lucas of Macon, MO; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Jarman, Jessica McKim (Emil), Jena Leathers, Alyssa McKenzie, Nicole Lucas Hall (Shannon), Brett Lucas, Bryce Lucas; nine great grandchildren Hadley Jarman, Judson Jarman, Holden Jarman, Keegan Compton (Sprite'a Beard), Christian Compton, Fallan Compton, Asher Hall, Winry Hall, Vivienne Irene Hall; and one great-great grandchild, KeeLayna Compton. Helen is survived by one sister, Mary E. Reynolds, Macon, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Louis McKenzie; her parents Leo B. and Gladys M. Weber; maternal and paternal grandparents; one niece Brenda Reynolds Fuller and one nephew Stephen W. Renyolds.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 12:00 pm at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Macon Health Care Activities Center.
