Helen "Susie" Rae (Sereno) Roth, 81, of Oakland, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on January 17, 1942, in Oakland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edgel and Estefee (Jackson) Sereno.
Helen attended Crellin Elementary and was a graduate of Southern High School. Her primary job was that of a homemaker, but she also worked as a bank teller at Garrett National Bank. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Helen enjoyed traveling, vacationing and visiting with her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Jason Roth and wife Rebecca and Jared Roth and wife Heather, both of Oakland; grandchildren, Alicia, Courtney, Amelia and Ryan Roth; siblings, Edgel Sereno and wife Mitzi of Potomac, MD, Tom Sereno and wife Diane of Hutton, and Jackie Sereno of Oakland; brothers-in-law, Russel Davis of Ohio and Kenny Alexander of Hutton; and her companion of 26 years, Bill Friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Harold Oscar Roth, and siblings, Eleanor Gallagher and husband Vincent, Louise Canan and husband Jim, Betty Davis, Mary Ellen Keller and husband Dewy, and Debra Alexander.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A, 21 N. Second St. Oakland. A funeral mass will be held on March 30, 2023, at 11 AM, in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Gills as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland or to Cindy's Fund, PO Box 182, Oakland.
