1936 – 2024
Helen got to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 25, 2024 at home surrounded by her Loving family.
The 5th born on August 9, 1936 to Allard and Carrie Clevenger Mullins of 16 siblings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clinton Stapleton of 66 years whom she married on October 25, 1956; two sisters, Betty Grizzell and Gearldean Sagraves; two brothers, Jim Mullins and Dickie Mullins; sisters-in-law, Carol Mullins and Caroline Mullins; brothers-in-law, Ray Grizzell, Orville Sagraves, Lacy Jackson, Calvin Jackson, Dale Coburn, Joe Blevins, and Jimmy Hallman.
Helen was of the Christian Faith. She and Clinton attended several Church's in the area throughout their 66 year marriage. She enjoyed doing search and find books, puzzles and spending time with her family. In her prime, she enjoyed gardening and traveling with Clinton.
Helen leaves behind three children, Rick Stapleton, Connie (Henry) Sturgill, Keith (Judy) Stapleton; five grandchildren, Selina (Shane) Bishop, Josh (Tabitha) Kitchen, Luke (Brittany) Stapleton, Brianna (Anthony) Jarrell, Nick (Erin) Stapleton; step-grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Baier, Scott Williams; seventeen great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Loretta Jo Jackson, Ruie Jackson, Faye "Sug" Coburn, Mary Maude Blevins, Rita (Mike Cains) Shaffer, Debbie Ann Hallman, Jennie (Sam) Sammons and Jewel (John) McDavid; three brothers, Linsey Mullins, Allen (Irene) Mullins, and Timmy Mullins; one sister-in-law Suji Mullins.
She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Pallbearers will be her five grandsons; Josh Kitchen, Shane Bishop, Tyler Bishop, Luke Stapleton, Nick Stapleton, and her great nephew, Dustin Shaffer.
Honorary pallbearers, son- in-law, Henry Sturgill and great-grandsons, Josiah and Titus Kitchen and her brothers, Linsey Mullins, Allen Mullins, and Timmy Mullins.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 29, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sparks Funeral Home, Josh Marshall, minister. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
