Helen Marie Allen WARE

Helen Marie Allen Ware, 82, of Columbus, OH, departed this life Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 1:49 p.m. at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, following heart failure.

She was born May 27, 1943 in Lake Providence, LA, the daughter of Berry and Ruthie Smith Allen, residing in the area for 10 years coming from Warren.

Helen was employed with Trumbull Memorial Hospital for 20 years as a Surgical Tech, before retiring in 1995. She attended Warren G. Griffin High School in Lake Providence, LA.

She was a member of My Fathers House in Columbus and was a former member of the Third Christian Church, where she served on the Usher Board, Christian Women's Fellowship and also belonged to the Eastern Stars. She enjoyed Bingo, bowling, listening to music, especially the Blues and playing cards.

She leaves to mourn, two daughters, Ms. Ireatha Sledge of Warren and Mrs. Vanessa (Jacques) Ware-Minnis of Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby (Benjamin) Walker and Ms. Octavia Allen both of Warren and Mrs. Juanita (Shelton) Walker of Houston, TX; twenty-nine grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Berry and Ruthie Allen; one son, Ronnie James Ware; four brothers, Lee Allen, Alvin Allen, Otis Allen and Clifton Allen and four sisters, Ms. Rosetta Rodgers, Ms. Estella Jackson, Ms. Louise Threats and Ms. Doris Jones.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Third Christian Church, with Calling Hours from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
