Helen Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Chapel - Fort Smith on Dec. 26, 2025.
Helen Lucille Wilson, lovingly known as Nanna, age 88, of Alma, Arkansas, passed away on December 25, 2025.

Helen was born on December 17, 1937, in Rudy, Arkansas, to William E. and Adell Lorraine (Tye) Osborne. On June 24, 1958, she married the love of her life, Robert R. Wilson, in Rudy, Arkansas. Their marriage was one of devotion, faith, and family.

Helen was a devoted Baptist and lived her life rooted in faith and service to others. She will be remembered most for her open heart and welcoming home. Family gatherings were often centered around her table, especially big Sunday meals. She never turned anyone away and always ensured that everyone was well-fed before they left her home. Her warmth, generosity, and hospitality were hallmarks of her life.

Helen is survived by her three children: Rick Wilson, Mike Wilson, and Julie McKeever; three grandchildren: Ryan Wilson, Nathan Taylor, and Emily Hurst; and three great-grandchildren: Rhett Wilson, Ruby Wilson, and Shepherd Hurst. She is also survived by her sister, Susie Smith, along with extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Adell Lorraine Osborne; her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert R. Wilson; and her siblings, Richard Osborne, W.T. Osborne, Billye Stone, Giles Osborne, James Osborne, and Jerry Osborne.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Newberry Cemetery. Mike Taylor will officiate the service, and pallbearers will be Nathan Taylor, Ryan Wilson, Joey Hurst, Eddie Dale Smith, Dale Osborne, and Kevin Osborne.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Alma Health and Rehab for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Helen. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
