Helen Ruth Wright Damesworth

Helen Ruth Wright Damesworth, age 91, of Waverly, TN, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, in Nashville, TN. She was born on May 12, 1934, in Bold Spring, TN, to the late Josie Rebecca Brown Wright and James Albert Wright. Helen was a beautiful Chrisitan, a member at River Lake Baptist Church in Waverly, and a retired homemaker. Helen was known for her kind and caring heart that helped anyone in need.
Left to cherish her memory are her nephews, Robert Craft (Regina), Billy Joe Wright (Gloria Ann), Johnny Ray Wright (Connie), Jerry Anthony Wright (Tammy), and Dennis Wright; nieces, Teresa Fleming (Kenny), Rebecca Ruth Malczewski, and Judy Annette Wright; and long-time friends, Pat Pangle, Ed and Sherry Dotson, and Rick and Barbara Moser.
Along with her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Damesworth; siblings, Oscar Wright, Annie Mae Craft, Jack Wright, Bill Wright, Brown Wright, Francis Chessor, Lula May Wright, and James Wright; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Mrs. Helen will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, beginning at 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. Bro. Joe James is officiating the service. Interment to follow at Young Cemetery off Bold Spring Road. Pallbearers are Robert Craft, Scott Craft, Billy Joe Wright, Jerry Wright, Johnny Wright, and Rick Moser.
