Helena G. Salazar, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on August 18, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, Helena was a proud native of the Lone Star State who touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit.
Helena was known for her love of cooking and her joy in bringing family and friends together. Her home was always filled with the comforting aroma of homemade meals, lively conversation, and laughter. She especially loved hosting gatherings where a fun game of Lotería-Mexican bingo-was sure to bring out everyone's playful side.
A woman who embraced life with passion, Helena found joy in dancing, listening to music, trying her luck with lottery tickets, and relaxing with her favorite television classics, Little House on the Prairie and The Rifleman.
Helena shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with her best friend and beloved husband, Raul Salazar, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2023. Together, they built a strong, loving family and a home filled with devotion, laughter, and lasting memories.
Helena's legacy lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her strength, kindness, and loving spirit will never be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her mother Irene Gutierrez, her beloved son Raul G. Salazar, her daughter Elenita Salazar, and her grandson Luke Israel Salazar.
Helena is survived by her children: Maricruz Hernandez (Javier), Emiliano Salazar (Monica), David Salazar (Ana), Christina Stephens (Barry), Israel Salazar (Linda), and Salvador Salazar; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nine sisters, one brother and numerous other close relatives and lifelong friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Helena's legacy is one of strength, love, and family. Her unwavering devotion and vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
