Helene E. Petersen

Helene E. (Turcotte) Petersen, 95, of Tyngsboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late James W. Petersen, who died in June 2019.
Helene was born in Somerville, MA, the daughter of the late Paul and Camille Turcotte. She has 2 siblings, Raymond Turcotte and Daniel Turcotte.
Helene worked as an inspector for the Raytheon Corporation until her retirement.
A woman of strong faith, she was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford, St. Francis Church in Dracut, and St. Michael's Church in Lowell, where she was also a devoted member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality.
Helene is survived by her son, James W. Petersen, Jr and his wife Sandra; three daughters, Maureen and her husband, John Daniell, Kim Hapenny and Elise Petersen, as well as James Hapenny who helped care for Helene alongside her children. She has 7 grandchildren: Gregory Daniell and his wife Kelly, Michael Daniell and his wife Michelle, Jessica Katsoulis and her husband Dimitri, James Petersen, III and his wife Vanessa, Heleene Agrella and her fiancé Eddy Eisenberg, Taylor and Tyler Hapenny. In addition, she has 8 great grandchildren: Oliver and Rose Daniell, Kaylee and Alivia Katsoulis, Ava, Anna, Adrian, and Adam Daniell.
She was predeceased by 2 brothers Robert and Peter Turcotte; 5 sisters: Pauline Turcotte, Annmarie Richards, Ruth Carney, Camille Sullivan, and Lucille Roberts.
FUNERAL NOTICE PETERSEN - Helene E. (Turcotte) Petersen of Tyngsboro, MA, died Sunday, November 16, 2025. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, beginning at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA, will follow immediately after the church service.
