It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helga R. Patterson of 94 yrs on 8-12-25 at home with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a beautiful friend to all who knew her. She was born in Berlin Germany where she met her husband at a Military Hospital, he worked upstairs in the lab, she worked downstairs in labor and delivery, and then she immigrated to the United States where they married, and had three children.
She dedicated her life to her family, community, and always put others before herself. Helga was known for her quick wit, her joyous smile and her unwavering love of animals. She is survived by Diane J. Mackeil, Jacqueline S. Truman, Jane A. Patterson Johnston, her grandchildren, Vanessa A. Mackeil, William J. Mackeil, Parker Allison Mackeil, Zachary T. Turman, Amanda L. Turman, her great grandchildren, Cody A. Bayless, Caysen R. Palmer, Chenelle A. Mackeil, Arilena A. Mackeil, Blayke E. Turman and Hazel G. Turman, and of coarse her beloved for baby companions.
Her legacy of compassion and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, she will be laid to rest at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on 8-25-25
