Hellen Phelps

Word has been received of the death of Hellen Phelps, 77, of Cleburne, TX.

Mrs. Phelps passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2026, in Burleson, TX.

Hellen was born on April 27, 1948 in Henrietta, TX to Raymond David and Mamie (Lloyd) Gibson. She grew up in Henrietta and after graduation in 1969 she joined the United States Marine Corps and honorably served for three years. After her military career, she attended college at Midwestern State University, Vernon College, and Bethania School of Nursing. She married Chester Phelps and five children were added to this union. Hellen was a hard worker and worked as a registered nurse, at Silver Havens Nursing Home, was the owner and operator of K and P Janitorial with her husband, and was a home maker, raising her children and grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crocheting blankets and dolls, gardening, woodworking, and baking.

She is survived by her children, Georgia Phelps, Louvenia Phleps, Shalonda Phelps, Mamie Kennedy, and Dawn Dobbs; her sisters, Rayma June, and Betty Jane; her grandchildren; her great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.

Hellen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester; her three brothers; and her two sisters.
