Hendrick "Wick" Wichers

Hendrick Jon "Wick" Wichers, 74, of Sedro-Woolley, Washington passed away December 28, 2024. He was born February 10, 1950 to Henry William and Jean (Fullerton) Wichers.
His parents were part of the post-WWII move, leaving Kansas for California, where Wick grew up in the Santa Clara valley. After earning his AA degree, he joined the Air Force, serving his four years as Security Police in Wyoming and Germany.
He attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo on his GI bill, where he met and married Susan Reeber in 1978. Graduating in 1979 with a degree in Engineering Technology, he went to work for Lockheed, first in California, then Florida. He retired in 2006, moving to Sedro-Woolley in 2008.
Pastimes included living in old houses in need of repair and updating, collecting old tools, and helping Sue in the garden. His focus in life was his family, making sure to be home for dinner and attending every one of his kids' events and many activities.
A quiet man, his presence always made an impact. While his natural tendency was to remain in the background, once prompted he could talk for hours. He enjoyed sharing stories of his past, his family history, and dispensing hard won wisdom in amusing anecdotes.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Wichers of Sedro-Woolley; daughters, Zabrina Wichers (Doug Lawson), Vanessa Wichers (Michael Greene Wichers); grandchildren, Nikola, Anthora, Gideon and Elric; sisters, Teresa Crockwell and Acacia McDermott.
