Henry Bartowiak Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kevin M. Mason Funeral Home on Jan. 25, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that the patriarch of our family was called to his eternal rest after a long and valiant illness. Courageous, tenacious, witty, big hearted, generous and lovable ware a few of the words that come to mind when we speak about Henry. Known for his smile and his practical jokes and the fact he was always ready to help a neighbor, his family and any friend with moment's notice. He was born in Kazimierz Dolny Poland the only son of the late Michel and Rosetta (nee Krupsky) Bartowiak, the family immigrated from Poland to Buffalo New York and made Kaisertown their home for over fifty years. Henry attended Buffalo Schools and graduated from the University at Buffalo. His career spanned over 45 years at the Peter J. Schmidt Co., as a retailer and purchaser. This allowed him to travel and see the world with his beautiful wife Irene J. (nee Gorski). Their son, Theodore and daughter Kimberly also enjoyed traveling abroad -especially to Poland to learn about their rich heritage. Theodore passed away in 2009 and resided in Verno Beach CA. His wife still remains there. His daughter Kimbery and her husband

Richard resides in Greece, NY. Henry was the proud "Gramps" of Eva (Luke), Michael (Cathryn), Kenneth (Lisa), Henry (Jacqueline) and Thomas (late Teresa). Along with his family his great and great-great grandchildren will carry on his legacy. Henry is predeceased by his sister Irena (late Samuel) Cipola and nieces and a nephew will always remember him fondly. A Memorial Mass will be held at Resurrection Roman Catholic Church, 130 Como Park Boulevard Cheektowaga, NY 14227 at a date and time to be announced. Everyone is cordially invited to attend once plans have been finalized. The family would be appreciative if you signed the on-line guest book and shared a favorite memory of Henry. On-line guestbook is available at www.kevinmmasonfuneralhome.com. The family has entrusted the Kevin M. Mason Funeral Home with final arrangements. 154 Weimar Street Buffalo, New York 14206 (716) 362-0199 Fax: (716) 462-5355 email: [email protected]
