Henry Cannon's laugh alone was enough to deserve an obituary. Infectious, loud and rarely absent, his spirit drew hundreds of people to him. His voice still echoes through the ears of all who loved him and will for the rest of their lives.
A nature lover and a man who loved working with his hands, Henry was in touch with his quiet side, too. He had a deep wonder and love for this world and he passed at the age of 27 with a sudden, painless fall in the trees he deeply loved. We suspect that they envied us his constant company so much, they took him back.
Henry was a leader who didn't tell you what to do, he showed you. He woke early, worked hard, laughed loud, and yet loved so gently. He was a man that exemplified how we should be spending our time here on earth.
When you were working alongside Henry, whether deep in the Alaskan wilderness or building a sauna in his backyard, you hoped he would tire so you could rest, but of course he did not. There was not enough time in a day, and even when the stars finally came out, Henry would be sure to take you to see them.
A gentle, thoughtful and sweet son. A boisterous, proud and loving brother, and a leader to a large group of very lucky friends, Henry Michael Cannon did not leave a void in our lives as much as he left his mark.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Khan Academy in Henry's honor are requested.
