Joan Cynthia Wieczorek

Joan Cynthia Wieczorek, 86, of Golden Valley Minnesota, died peacefully in her home on September 12th, 2025. She was born in Morris Minnesota on December 4th, 1938 to Frieda and John Lampert. Joan received a Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts and a certificate in Early Childhood Development from the University of Minnesota. After pursuing and receiving her college degree, Joan worked as a professional glassblower for several years, before she became a prominent part of her community by starting her own private group Daycare business. She celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage with her husband Jim after meeting him at their work place, Gould National Batteries, where they fell in love. Throughout her life, they traveled the country by RV and shared a passion for square dancing. They enjoyed attending dance and theater performances together. In retirement, they spent time at their home in northern Minnesota enjoying the nature that surrounded them and visits from their family. Joan was preceded in death by father, John Lampert; her mother, Frieda Lampert/Krogsted; stepfather, Rolland Krogsted; and sister, Karen (Lampert) Locher. She is survived by her beloved husband, James Albert Wieczorek; brother, Gary Lampert; and her three children: Gregory S. Wieczorek, Cynthia R. Brovold and James J. Wieczorek. Joan has 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on October 4th, 2025, at Washburn-McReavy, 5001 Vernon Ave S, Edina, MN 55436. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Reception to follow.
