Henry Arnold Crowell

Henry "Hank" Crowell Jr. was born January 12, 1954 in Peru, Indiana to Ida Mae and Henry Crowell Sr. He passed away May 14, 2025 at his home in Round Rock, Texas at the age of 71, surrounded by family.
Hank grew up in the Circus community and his family settled at Gene Autry's Melody Ranch in Newhall, California. He performed in the circus from the age of 2 as a member of "The Crowells – Fun on the Trampoline" and became an actor at the age of 10. Hank acted in television, motion pictures, theatre, drama ministry at church, and also sang baritone in the Certain Sounds Christian singing group, as well as at many weddings and funerals. He went on to perform at the Comedy Store in L.A., co-owned Off the Walla Voice Over Company, and performed voice overs for several years. He played numerous parts in multiple theatre productions. Later he moved to Odessa, TX to become the Artistic Director of The Globe of the Great Southwest Theatre. He then went back to school to become a teacher, and while substitute teaching, Hank met his future wife Melissa Malone. He continued with his drama ministry as well as acting in local commercials. After graduation, Hank began teaching in the Permian Basin. Hank and Melissa were married on February 18, 2006 in Midland, TX and moved to Round Rock in 2010, where Hank continued teaching and became a lifeguard at the local YMCA. He retired in 2018 to spend time with his family, practice woodworking, and compose and play music. He was a very artistic individual, loving and committed to God, his family and making people smile.
Hank was preceded in death by his father, Henry Crowell Sr., step-father, Dr. Robert "Bob" Scranton and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Crowell, mother, Ida Mae Scranton, sisters, Peggy Ennis, and Melinda Crowell, stepsons, Jason Bart and Clinton Scott McDowell and stepdaughter Leigh Meredith Aguilar, nieces – Jessica Allen and Makenzie Harris and many grandchildren and friends.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 2pm at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 3201 Sunrise Road in Round Rock, TX
Burial will be at Round Rock Cemetery at 1400 Sam Bass Road in Round Rock, TX
His character and unique personality touched many lives.
