Henry DeVault Obituary
A hardworking man who cared greatly for his family and community, Henry owned and operated DeVault's Gulf Service Station, worked as an Oliver Equipment Dealer for Blaine Equipment Company, and was a longtime cattle farmer. He faithfully served as Chairman of the Republican Party of Grainger County and Republican State Committeeman of the Fourth Senatorial District reflecting his commitment to civic involvement and conservative values. He was also a member of Mouth of Richland Baptist Church.
Henry was deeply committed to service through his fraternal work. He was a Past Master of Rising Star Lodge #44 F&AM with 62 years of service, Past Master of Morning Star #55 OES, and a member of the Knoxville Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his father, Newell Truman DeVault; mother, Cecil Coram DeVault; and stepmother, Grace George DeVault.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Marie Booker DeVault; sons, William T. DeVault (Freida) and Henry T. DeVault, Jr.; grandson, John Henry DeVault (Stephanie); granddaughter, Beth Light (Nathan); and great-grandchildren, Titus Light, Andrew DeVault, Clara Light, Noah Light, and Joshua Light.
Pallbearers: Bob Dykes, Chance DeVault, Brad Keaton, Johnny Cooper, Mark DeVault, Darren Coil, and Nathan Light. Honorary pallbearers: John "Butch" Grigsby, Roy Strevels, and James Summers.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Bridges Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service following, led by Rev. John DeVault. Music to be provided by Nathan Light, Titus Light and Freida DeVault.
Family and friends will meet at Luttrell Cemetery on Monday, September 8 at 10:15 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. Interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Henry's memory.
