Henry R. Doane

November 1, 1952-June 17, 2025

Henry R. Doane of La Porte was reunited with his daughter on June 17, 2025. Born November 1, 1952, in Hammond, IN., he was the son of Denzil and Melva Doane.

On September 11, 1978, he married Barbara Doane who survives.

For over three decades Henry enjoyed a true friendship and partnership with James Brashear (deceased) in J & M Amusement. Later down the road Henry started Michiana Amusement which came with many challenges, exciting growth, and many great stories, but also introduced Henry to the world of darts. Henry greatly enjoyed playing the game with friends and promoting the recreation so much he achieved the title, "State Champion" and was recognized for the promotion of the dart leagues. The stories held within the hearts of those he touched will keep his memory alive and filled with love and laughter until we meet again.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Michael (Catherine) Doane, grandson Ethan Doane, brother Robert Doane, sisters Juanita (Kenny) Quirk, Margaret (Jerry) Archer, 6 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kristen, brother Harold Doane and sister Terry Olson. .

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be held 12 Noon Friday, June 27, 2025 at the Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Haverstock Funeral Home..
