UNION, WV – Henry Ray Dransfield of Union, passed away at the age of 92 while at the Brian Rehabilitation Center in Low Moor, VA, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Born May 14, 1933, in Gap Mills, WV, he was the son of the late Frederick Ray and Ida Brammer Dransfield.

Henry Ray graduated from Gap Mills High School in 1952 and then honorably served in the US Air Force from '53-'57. He returned to Monroe County and worked as a full-time farmer and other related jobs. Finally, he worked as a school bus driver for 15 years until retirement in 1995. He was a dedicated member of the Union Lions Club and enjoyed serving the community for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard Dransfield.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann McClung Dransfield; sister Patricia Rhea, son Michael Dransfield and wife Anne of Columbia, MD; daughter Lee Ann Dransfield and husband Lorne Bair of Winchester, VA; granddaughter Lindsay Anne Belliveau and husband Tom of Columbia, MD; granddaughter Maggie Dransfield and husband Nick Sines of Windsor Mills, MD; grandsons Stephen and John Dransfield both of Van Nuys, CA; and great-grandchildren Jude Sines, and Brazile and Zyair Belliveau.

Funeral services will be held at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV, on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Public visitation begins at 12:00 noon followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Union. The online guestbook can be signed or condolences may be sent to the family at www.grovesfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Union United Methodist Church, PO Box 153, Union, WV 24983.
