Jane Louise Dransfield, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, in Laurens, South Carolina. Born on November 23, 1959, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Jane's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of family bonds.
Jane's journey began as the cherished daughter of Allen Richard Matthews Sr. and Jane LaRue Matthews, both of whom predeceased her, as did her beloved husband, Matthew Wayne Dransfield. Her legacy continues through her devoted children: Molly Jane Todd (William T.); Zachary Jackson Dransfield (Casey Lee); and Matthew Tyler Dransfield (Ashlee). Jane's spirit will forever be reflected in the joy of her grandchildren: Canaan Allen Todd, Jackson Matthew Dransfield, Peyton Lee Dransfield, and Mathew Wayne Dransfield II.
Jane's brothers, Allen R. Matthews Jr. (Jean), Alton Matthews (Vicki), and Randy Matthews, along with her sister, Dale J. Hallman (Kenneth), and her significant other for more than 10 years George Hampton will hold her memory close, as will her many nieces and nephews who were touched by her generosity and warmth. Jane was predeceased by her sister in law Sharon Matthews.
Throughout her life, Jane was a pillar of her community, dedicating many years to the local hospital system. Her colleagues knew her as a thoughtful and diligent worker, whose presence brought calm and order to even the most hectic days. Jane's passions extended beyond her professional life. She found joy in the simple pleasure of taking walks, where she could appreciate the beauty of nature and the rhythm of life around her. Riding motorcycles was another of Jane's favorite pastimes, a hobby that spoke to her adventurous spirit and love of freedom. Above all, Jane cherished the time spent with her family. Her love was a constant, unwavering force that nurtured her children and grandchildren.
Described by those who knew her best as loving, thoughtful, and selfless, Jane's impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle. Her ability to listen without judgment, to support without expectation, and to give without seeking recognition defined her character and endeared her to all.
Jane Louise Dransfield's life was a beautiful journey of love, care, and selfless devotion. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we celebrate the mark she has left on the hearts of those who were privileged to know her. Her light, though no longer present in this world, continues to shine brightly through the lives of her family and friends. Jane's story does not end with her passing but lives on in the love she shared and the lives she touched.
