Henry "Hank" W. Edwards, 82, passed away peacefully at home in Carver, Massachusetts. Born in Boston and raised in Cambridge, Hank was affectionately known as "Butch" during his childhood and "Hank" in his adult life. He was a vibrant, free spirit who lived each day with humor, generosity, and heart.
As a young man, Hank ran track and worked as a horse walker at the Belmont Racetrack-an early connection to his father, a racehorse breeder. These experiences laid the foundation for a life full of passion, movement, and character.
Hank enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing pool, and poker nights with friends. He loved to cook, watch Westerns, cheer for basketball, and root for his favorite football team-the Raiders. He rarely missed Jeopardy! or a good documentary on the History Channel.
A lifelong music lover, Hank sang along to almost any tune he knew. As a teen, he was proud to be a member of a singing group called The Supreme Tones, sharing his voice and joy with others.
He also had a deep appreciation for cars-proudly owning one of the first Ford Mustangs and later savoring the thrill of long, fast drives in his Jaguars. Whether dancing, whistling a tune, or simply taking the scenic route, Hank found joy in the moment.
Hank lived in the home of his beloved longtime partner, Patricia Ann (Duffin) Henderson, who passed away in August of 2023. During that time, he grew very close to her son Gregory Corbin, Gregory's wife Darlene of Wareham, and their children Kevvon and Tazmyn Corbin. They welcomed Hank with love, and the bond they shared became a meaningful part of his life. They shared many meaningful memories, and he cherished being part of their family.
He was known for his quick wit, warm heart, and sharp sense of style. He gave heartfelt advice, was a great listener, and made those around him feel truly seen and valued.
Hank is survived by his daughter Michelle Edwards of Boston, MA; his son Daryl Edwards of New York, NY; his sister Grace "Sissy" Vasquez of Miami, FL; and his brother John Edwards of Plymouth, MA. He also leaves behind his one and only grandchild, Jake Edwards O'Neil of Boston, MA, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is also lovingly remembered by his lifelong friends Margaret Edwards and Carol Edwards, with whom he remained in touch since teen years, along with countless other friends he stayed connected with for over 60 years.
His spirit, kindness, and laughter will live on in all who knew him.
One of Hank's favorite quotes was:
"Failure is not an option."
It perfectly captures the way he faced life-with courage, optimism, and determination.

I knew Hank only after Pat passed. We talked some, made each other laugh, kept track of each other´s comings and goings, and the results of his weekly card games. He was a pleasure to know, I miss him very much. His Mass was beautiful and helpful. I believe Hank is at peace. I wish healing for his family and friends.

A man who is going to be missed. I didn't know him very long but felt a good friendship with him. I am part of the afternoon poker group and enjoyed the cross the table duel. It was good fun with him. He enjoyed the peanutbutter in Ritz crackers and home made oatmeal cookies.

We miss you.
