Henry W. "Bing" Ewalt III

Henry W. "Bing" Ewalt III, age 85, of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Hampton and Wexford, passed peacefully on March 5, 2026, while surrounded by his loving family.

Survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Jabsen Ewalt. Father of Andrew Ward (Krislyn Launer) Ewalt and Sarah Marie Ewalt; brother of Sally Jane Ewalt and Betsy Ewalt Tuttlebee; grandfather of Chloe Joy Ivanson and Ward Anders Ewalt. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. H. Ward Ewalt, Jr. and Jane Stewart Ewalt.

A lover of nature and the Western states, Bing met his wife Mary in Glacier Park in 1959. Graduate of Allegheny College, and University of Michigan Law School. Bing proudly served his country as Captain of the US Army, a Vietnam Veteran of the 82nd Airborne, and recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation, Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Accomplished Attorney of Litigation, Labor & Employment Law in Private, Corporate and Government sectors, his strong moral compass guided him as he handled and oversaw tens of thousands of cases, from Pennsylvania to the United States Supreme Court.

Bing was a devoted man of Faith, loved hiking, gardening, art, theater, music and history. An author, educator, and volunteer, he dedicated his life to helping others expand their minds and their hearts.

Friends & family will be received on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 12:00 noon, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 971 Beech Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15233.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Allegheny Land Trust, where Bing served as President and later Board Member, helping protect the land & provide trails for generations to come.
