Rochester: on May 4, 2023 at the age of 93. Predeceased by his parents, Irma and Eliseo Ferrarone; his sister, Lillian Ferrarone; and his granddaughter, Sara Ferrarone. He is survived by sons,Thomas (Carol Acquilano), Robert (Margaret), David (Carol); and daughter, Nancy Ferrarone; in addition to grandchildren, Katie (Vinny) Maimone, John (Maya Klauber) Ferrarone, Michael Ferrarone, Anne (Jeffrey) Laughlin, Mary Herbert, Laura Ferrarone and Grace (Jeff) Sciera; as well as six great grandchildren who he loved dearly.
He graduated from Charlotte High School, attended Michigan State College for Horticulture, and earned a business degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. A practicing accountant, he also taught at Monroe Community College and Brockport State College.
He was an avid sailor and a long-standing member of the Genesee Yacht Club. Hank and son, Tom, sailed with the esteemed "LaTrappe Creek Society", fellow sailors who annually adventured to ports the world over.
Hank made friends wherever he went and belonged to many social groups in Rochester. He loved travel and more than travel was his desire to share it with his family. Many of his children and grand-children were able to share wonderful, memorable trips with him. Hank knew every waterfall, public and private, in New York State and documented them with camera or sketch pad.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and a student of WWI history and had a memory for facts and details. Hank loved to share stories of his life, his family, his friends and his travels. He was tremendously generous with his time and resources when family had a need.
The family would like to thank the Friendly Home of Rochester for their care of Hank over the past 11 months, especially the love and devotion shown by Judy Cowan and Singh Harjit. Hank was treated with great love and dignity by all.
