With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Henry "Larry " Getchell. He was a loving father, cherished husband, and an active member of Galilee Baptist Church. He passed away at Baptist Hospital on May 28, 2025, at the age of 73.
Larry was born on December 2,1951, in Savannah, Georgia. He lived in Milton, Florida his whole life. After serving in the Army as a helicopter pilot, he continued his flying career, which he LOVED. He worked for PHI for over 42 years, including several LifeFlight programs.
He was a kind hearted and generous man whose love for God brought joy to many people.
He was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Willena Getchell, as well as brothers, Charles and Kenny.
Survived by his wife, Luann; his brother, Harris (Joann); sisters in-law Anita and Mary Alice. A devoted father to Tricia, Kristina (Brian), Laura, Sarah, Kenny, Micky (George); bonus daughters, Andi and Holli; grandchildren, Lindsie, Abbie, Austin, Patrick, Sean; several great grandchildren; and many loving friends and family.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday June 3, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Home, 6405 Highway 90 W Milton, Florida 32570, with visitation from 1:00-2:00pm and service at 2:00pm. Interment will immediately follow at Milton Cemetery with military honors.
