Henry Nils Hale Sr.

Henry Nils Hale, Sr., 85 of Fairmont went to his Lord and Savior on July 7, 2025. He was born in Fairmont, WV on September 6, 1939, the son of the late Henry Harlen and Margaret (Thompson) Hale.
Henry served in the Army Reserves. He was a member of Local 425 and 596 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 60 years.
Henry served as a Deacon and Bible teacher at the Oakwood Road Church of Christ where he was a faithful member. Henry read through his Bible more than seven times making many notes. He also worked on many electrical projects and repairs at the church building.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Willard Koonse, mother-in-law Irene (Barati) Koonse, son Henry Niles Jr., daughter Margaret Broadwater; his sisters, Mary Jo Williams, Donna Lou Dye and Nola Suplita and niece Carrie Bruni.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Susan (Koonse) Hale; children George Hale of Fairmont; step-children William Hudson III and his wife Jacqueline of the Villages, FL, Stacey Bankey and her husband Richard of Pittsburgh, PA, and Kristy Burks and her husband Ronnie of Fairmont; grandchildren Henry Hale III and his wife Elizabeth of Mannington, Emily Knitter and her husband, Justin of Bangor, PA, Lori Dawn and her husband of Ohio, William IV and Joseph Hudson of Cocoa, FL, Dylan Burks and his wife Lexi of Little Rock, AR and Brailie Sue Burks of Fairmont; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; brother Chester Hale and wife Sue of Morgantown, and sisters Rebecca Seymore of Chillicothe, OH, Margaret Hyde of Clarksburg, and Karen Sue Myers and her husband James of Fairmont, brother-in-law Barry Bruni and his wife Joyce of Bethel Park, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Oakwood Road Church of Christ, One Oakwood Road, Fairmont with Brent Gallagher officiating. The burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery Bunner Ridge, Fairmont. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the church building. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
