Henry Harper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Broussard's Mortuary - Silsbee on Dec. 8, 2025.
Henry Allan Harper, 77, of Kountze, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1948, in Beaumont, to Bobbie Lee Wilkerson Harper and E. Z. Harper.

The greatest man I've ever known received his heavenly body today, and I was blessed to call him Dad. Many people never meet their hero-I was raised by mine. He was larger than life, always full of laughter, jokes, and joy.

The most important gift he gave me was his unwavering love for our Lord and Savior. Growing up, my sister and I never had to ask if we were going to church-it was simply a part of who we were because of him. He also had a passion for lifting weights, reaching an incredible 550-pound bench press, a feat that spoke to his strength and determination.

After serving in the Army, he came home and built a career as an owner-operator truck driver. Behind the wheel of his beloved 1974 Peterbilt "Pete," he logged over 3 million miles in that truck. That truck was more than a machine-it was like his third child, cared for so meticulously you could eat off it, top or bottom. Even after retirement, in 2005 he couldn't bring himself to part with it for five years.

He was a devoted husband to our mom, married for 56 years. They did everything together, and in his final days, he never left her side. Mom was his comfort, his security blanket, and his greatest love.

This isn't goodbye-it's only "I'll see you in a little while." Dad, we will take care of Mom while you enjoy your well-deserved rest. I will miss you deeply. You were my Daddy first, but also my best friend. I love you, buddy.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sherri Harper; daughter, Christi Huff and her husband, Jody, of Ohio; son, Cody Harper and his wife, Angela, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Madison Huff, Mitchell Huff, Mallory Harper, and Megan Harper.

His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
