Henry Layton Hooks

Henry Layton Hooks, 74, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at his residence, with his loving family by his side. He was born March 26, 1951 in Horry County, a son of the late Dolphus "AD" and Thelma Ray Hooks.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his Aunt, Jane Hooks, who was like his mother; siblings, Eugene "Gene" Hooks, Carl Hooks, Wendell Hooks, William Hooks, Alice Faye Shelly, James "J.D." Hooks, and a special cousin, Lenue Hooks. Henry was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to everyone he met. Henry enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandson Hunter, and following NASCAR.
He was employed with Security Management of South Carolina for many years as a security officer.
Mr. Hooks is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Shirley Price Hooks; his children, Alicia Hooks Hollerbach (Maci), and Kelly Hooks; his grandson, Hunter Hucks; siblings, David Hooks (Teresa), Brad Hooks (Faye), Michael Hooks, Julia Anderson (Wallace), Dinah Lane (Glen), Bonnie Johnson, and Pat Small (Randy); sisters-in-law Kathy Price, Kathy Hooks and Betty Johnson (Larry); grand fur babies, Memphis, Whiskey, Lincoln and Millie; along with many other family and friends who will miss him.
A Funeral Service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Bayboro Baptist Church Cemetery.
