Henry Daniel Hoppe, 98, of Alpena passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, on his birthday.
Henry was born October 19, 1927, in Alpena to the late Florian and Josephine (Antkowiak) Hoppe. He married Alice Towlerton on July 10, 1959. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2016. Henry worked at Abitibi for 30 years. He enjoyed traveling all over the United States in his 35 years of retirement, camping, being in the woods, and tractor shows.
Surviving are his two children, Robert Hoppe, Mari (Ron) Andor; four grandchildren, Ben (Jenny) Hoppe, Jerred (Megan) Hoppe, Molli (Robert Arden) Andor, Heather Andor; six great grandchildren, Cody, Eva, Jason, Violet, Rhett, Lilly; two sisters-in-law, Leona Hoppe, Mary Ellen Hoppe; all of his friends and neighbors at Long Lake; and his cat, Keechie.
Henry was preceded in death by his son, Charles Hoppe; grandson, Alex "AJ" Hoppe; two brothers, Eugene Hoppe, Patrick Hoppe; two sisters, Genevieve Wojdan, and Virginia Wikar.
Visitation will take place Monday, October 27, 2025, at Bannan Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating.
Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
