Henry “Paul” Lloyd, 97, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Edward M. Poe Care Center in Titusville, Florida surrounded by his family. A native of Alamance County, he was born November 24, 1926 to the late Thomas Lloyd and Fannie Mae Williams Lloyd. Paul was the loving husband of 63 years to his late wife Arlies “Sis” Phillips Lloyd.
Paul was a US Army Veteran and a longtime member of Brick Reformed Church. He had many hobbies such as gardening tomato plants, collecting antiques, carpentry, and keeping busy at all times. His career took him to Titusville, FL in 1968 where he worked as an electrician at the Kennedy Space Center on the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. Paul created a generational passion for space, and was always knowledgeable on space news. Although the majority of his career was located in Florida, he happily retired back home in Alamance County with his late wife Sis. Paul continued to visit Florida yearly where his son and grandchildren lived. He spent the last few months of his long life in Titusville, FL with his son and family.
Survivors include his son; Steve Lloyd and wife Adriana; grandchildren Corey Lloyd and wife Stephanie, Christopher Lloyd, and Gabriella Lloyd; great-grandchildren Dean Lloyd and Lilliana Lloyd; and many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Bobby, James, Frances, Doris Lloyd; and daughter: Paula Ann Lloyd. His family is comforted in the fact that he is reunited with so many loved ones.
A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Brick Reformed Church by Rev. Geoff LaLone with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.
